Onelau‘ena Program

Onelau‘ena Emergency Shelter Program focuses on placing families and individuals experiencing homelessness or imminent risk of homelessness

Kealahou West Oahu (KWO) has a long-standing relationship with various providers in the Leeward community and government agencies. We believe no single agency can prevent or end homelessness. Our philosophy is:

“I put your hand in my hand, and what I can’t do alone we can do together.”

“A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step”

Since 2007 Partners In Development Foundation has been providing Early Learning Intervention for children ages 0-5 years old, Parenting Classes, and Youth Mentoring. These services assist our program participants in stabilizing their individual and parenting roles in the household.

Alu Like, Inc.  provides basic skills in Financial Literacy and Job Readiness. The goal of this partnership is to assist our participants in obtaining employment and increasing their household income to become self-sufficient.

Legal Aid Society in hosting quarterly events to educate our homeless clients on Landlord and Tenant Codes, Social Security Disability procedures, achieving tenant readiness, and increasing client income.

Hawaiian Community Assets conducts financial literacy services, provide Individual Development Account assistance, enable credit building, and assist households with rental-based loan products once shelter is abtained.
